GEMS from HEAVEN: Revelation 4:3; 21:10-21
Years ago when there were threats of nuclear attacks by the Russians, the country had what was called “Fallout Shelters”. These shelters could not really protect you from a nuclear attack but it made people feel like they were safe and someone cared.
Here is the GEM: With God, we have a true shelter of protection for the spiritual man. We are assured by Jesus that even if one dies, physically, he will live (John 11:25-26). When we seek the refuge of God, we will be able to withstand the nuclear attacks on our heart, mind and will that tries to destroy our hope and confidence in Him. He truly cares for us and wants us to be with Him and He with us. May we seek His shelter of truth in His word and His presence to be with us as we walk with Him.
Oh, how abundant is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you and worked for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of the children of mankind! In the cover of your presence you hide them from the plots of men; you store them in your shelter from the strife of tongues. Blessed be the LORD, for he has wondrously shown his steadfast love to me when I was in a besieged city.
