GEMS From Heaven

GEMS from HEAVEN: Revelation 4:3; 21:10-21

There are many distractions in this world that would draw us away from the path of righteousness. In fact, some of those distractions are simply traps. They entangle us to the point that we trip and fall. No matter how hard we try, we cannot get up or even get started on the journey of life in God. So, what do we do? How do we get out of the trap to enjoy life in the midst of a confused and perverted world? Or, are we just simply doomed to a life of disappear?

Here is the GEM: God provided His son, Jesus the Christ. Those of long ago believed that God would fulfill a promise He made for all of us to be able to shed the shackles of sin, guilt and death. Giving us hope for tomorrow that it will be better if we follow His lead, His gospel. This requires a maintained focus, in other words, a fully fixed sight on Him in spite of the distractions all around us. This fixed focus will for sure enable us to be set free and live a life of joy and hope in Him.

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
