GEM from HEAVEN

In John chapter 2 where Jesus turned water to wine, many have used this to justify social drinking of alcoholic beverages or to be a little intoxicated. No, the context is not about that at all.

Here is the GEM: Jesus demonstrated His lordship over nature and that He provides the best in this life. There is still another aspect of Jesus’ miracle in John 2. Even though God has blessed us in this life with food, clothing, shelter, family, friends, sadness, hope and joy, the best is yet to come. Think about that for a moment. No matter what we go through whether good or evil, the best is yet to come. Now that’s a GEM worth holding on to.

When the headwaiter tasted the water which had become wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter *called the bridegroom, and *said to him, "Every man serves the good wine first, and when the people have drunk freely, then he serves the poorer wine; but you have kept the good wine until now."
