GEM from HEAVEN

Much of the ambitions we have in life are towards the things of this world. So we go in full pursuit and at the end we realize the worthlessness of it. How does one recover from the regrets of not pursuing those things that are truly meaningful?

Here is the GEM: make the ambition of life to please the Lord. It is a life of constant renewal even if you have to change course from your previous ambitions. It is a life of hope for others and you to receive from the Lord the reward of heaven when your work on earth is done. For we all will give an account no matter who we are. Now that is truly being ambitious.

Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord-- for we walk by faith, not by sight-- we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
