GEM from HEAVEN
Every now and then we need and have reminders that if we live long enough, we are going to get old and eventually die. Just thinking of that alone can be very discouraging. We feel like getting old will work against us and besides, there are the aches and pains.
Here is the GEM: living a life in Christ getting older will be viewed as producing an eternal weight of glory, i.e. it will be well worth it. It will produce this anticipation of looking forward to that something far greater. It’s like that anticipation we have for that Thanksgiving Day meal that drives you to go the last mile in order to get it.
Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison
