GEMS from HEAVEN: Revelation 4:3; 21:10-21
How often have wives been upset with their husbands for not asking for directions when they were lost? Now, we have GPS to give us directions. It only goes to show that everyone at one time or another needs guidance or direction in their lives. But like many, we have gone on our own and find ourselves lost. So it is with man’s situation with God.
Here is the GEM: God has provided us a GPS to heaven in Jesus the Christ. He is called the Great Shepherd because He knows the way to heaven. Through God’s word we can hear the voice of the Christ giving us guidance and direction in life just as a shepherd does with his sheep. Christ is to go before us i.e., He is to lead the way. Those who would follow Him are His sheep who are listening to His voice. If the sheep goes off on its own, it will end up lost and in danger. So the GPS that has provided is worth turn on to find our way home to Him.
When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers."
