GEMS from HEAVEN: Revelation 4:3; 21:10-21
Many have searched for the fountain of youth only to realize the older we get, our bodies continue to wear down like a garment. No amount of plastic surgery and taking of vitamins will prevent our body from returning to the dust from whence it came. There is nothing wrong with trying to look and feel healthy unless it is the end all for us. So why do many us do these things? We want to live forever.
Here is the GEM: Jesus taught if you want to live forever, you must know God. He was not talking about an acquaintance but true intimate knowledge of the Holy One. You see, knowing God is what living forever is all about. It is only through meeting the Lord that forgiveness is found; we escape hell and secure heaven; that meaning and purpose for our lives are made real to us. With that in mind, it is well worth knowing the Sustainer of life for all eternity.
